Perth CBD | State Library of Western Australia | Free for students in years 10-12
Speed networking is a fantastic way to see just how varied careers in STEM can be – registrations now open!
Perth CBD – State Library of Western Australia

This is a unique opportunity for students to meet with inspiring female role models working in Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths. Designed for students in years 10-12, you will speak 1-1 with a number of different Women in STEM about their day-to-day work and career pathway. You will have a few minutes to talk to each mentor, learn about their career stories and ask questions, before moving onto the next.
Our mentors range from technical experts and managers with decades of experience to early-career professionals and graduates. Mentors speak to students about their career journey and what day-to-day life is like working in their field. Combined, their stories and experiences will help students understand the awesome array of opportunities that await in the world of STEM.
Students can choose to complete the speed-networking circuit solo or in pairs. Some sessions are themed to a particular area of interest, while others cover as many different STEM fields and industries as possible.
We will be holding a number of speed networking events throughout 2021, confirmed dates are listed at the top of this page. These events are free to attend for all students in years 10-12, but registration is compulsory because spaces are limited (this is because we need to pair the number of students attending with the number of Women in STEM!). Please follow the link above to register to the session of your choice.

Target audience & year level restrictions
This event is open to all students in years 10-12. To ensure this incredible opportunity is made available to as many WA students as possible, we will not be permitting students in lower year levels to register, unless there are still tickets available in the week prior to the event. We do, however, occasionally have students in years 10-12 who would like to bring a younger sibling – we welcome this as long as they complete the speed-networking session together. Thanks for your understanding.
