The success of this organisation is built upon the generous support of our Women in STEM Mentors. We are proud of our mentor team, which is comprised of a diverse range of successful and talented WA women. They range from young graduates just starting their careers, to technical experts and managers with a decades of experience. We carefully choose our mentor team for each event to give a good representation of the fields and industries available in WA.
Apart from being a whole lot of fun, being a Women in STEM Mentor with The Innovators’ Tea Party provides you with the following opportunities:
- Professional Development: Practice communicating your research or role in simple terms to a younger audience.
- Networking: Our Women in STEM Mentors come from a range of different STEM fields and industries, and all of them are passionate about promoting STEM careers to high school girls. Each of our events are accompanied by a volunteer thank you session where mentors are brought together.
- Giving Back: This is a fantastic way to give back to the local community and provide the next generation of leaders an insight into the infinite possibilities of a STEM career. Our events are once-off volunteering opportunities and require just a few hours commitment.
- Recognition: As a Women in STEM Mentor, we will be profiling the amazing work you do not only to students, but also to the wider community. Your career profile will be printed in our event program, and we will be showcasing as many of our mentors as possible on our website, LinkedIn and Facebook pages. Showcasing your work and achievements is an integral part of what we do as a not-for-profit.
We have multiple events coming up and we welcome new mentors! Let us know who you are and when you’re available by filling out the Expression of Interest form. Note: We are trialing a new volunteer recruitment program this year, so please re-enter your details – even if you’re a past mentor.
